Through her own personal example, Mrs. Esther Lefkowitz A”H inspired students to strive for excellence. She encouraged them to analyze the story of history to understand its components and how they were interrelated. Thus, her students saw beyond the mundane and superficial. Additionally, Mrs. Lefkowitz began the school debate team and gave many hours of guidance helping students learn to research, analyze and think critically about issues and express themselves in a professional, articulate and eloquent manner. Personally, Mrs. Lefkowitz would quietly perform multiple acts of chessed to help students while maintaining their dignity and privacy. M rs. Faige Kramer grew up in Queens, New York in a home suffused with Torah and in which tremendous value was placed on education. Her father, Rabbi Paysach Krohn, is a world renowned maggid who inspires klal yisroel and her mother, Rebbetzin Miriam Krohn, is a master educator and principal of Shevach High School. After matriculating from Queens College with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Math - Operations Research, it was a natural progression for Mrs. Kramer to follow in the footsteps of her illustrious parents and become a skilled and masterful educator in her own right. After teaching for several years in Har Torah and Torah Academy of Queens, she married Chananya Kramer, of Kol Rom fame, settled in Baltimore and began her career in Bais Yaakov. With a deep passion for Math and a true proficiency in her craft, Mrs. Kramer encourages students to excel while serving as a role model for striving to meet one’s potential. Her lessons are clear, engaging and well-paced and her mastery in Math, coupled with her incredible ability to transmit difficult concepts in a way that enables students to not only grasp the material but truly understand it, is exceptional. She is extremely invested in the success of each of her students and grades assignments quickly, putting much thought and care into the comments she writes which she carefully designs to bolster confidence and hone math skills. As devoted as Mrs. Kramer is to her students, she is equally dedicated to her department. In her role as Math Department Chair, Mrs. Kramer is supportive of her colleagues, taking much time to observe teaching methods and content. She leads with clear expectations and direction and consistently sets a course for excellence. Always concerned with the welfare of her fellow faculty members, she also heads The Sunshine Fund, an endeavor that supports teachers in times of joy and struggle.
